For salad:
½ cup slivered almonds
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. (6 oz.) baby spinach leaves
1 head romaine lettuce, washed and torn
2 Cameo apples, cored and thinly sliced
For dressing:
¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
6 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
½ cup olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp.
freshly ground black pepper

Place almonds in medium skillet with sugar. Cook over medium-high
heat 4 minutes or until coated and browned, stirring constantly;
set aside.
Combine dressing ingredients in small bowl; stir vigorously.
Pour over spinach, lettuce and apples just before serving; toss.
Sprinkle with sugared almonds.
